The client's aim is to enhance the ground floor of the existing dwelling by enlarging the kitchen and creating a new utility room. To maximize natural light, the roof of the rear extension has been designed using a glass roofing system, which will make the interior feel more open and bright.
This rear extension was thoughtfully designed to expand the internal living space, meeting the needs of a growing family. The clients envisioned an open-plan kitchen-diner with a cozy seating area, complemented by a separate lounge for moments of relaxation. The addition also included an extra bedroom, providing the flexibility necessary for the family’s future needs. In keeping with the architectural style of the existing dwelling, all materials were carefully chosen to ensure the extension blended seamlessly with the original structure. Sustainability was a key consideration throughout, with energy-efficient materials and methods incorporated to minimize environmental impact. The project received full planning approval and was executed with a clear focus on enhancing both the home's functionality and aesthetic appeal.
This project aimed to enhance the ground floor layout of the house. A rear extension was added, allowing for a more spacious kitchen-diner, the inclusion of a ground floor toilet, and the addition of a functional utility room.
